Special Applications

Hydroxide sludge-free emulsion splitting

Our wish to improve the environmental footprint and reduce disposal costs has motivated us to optimise chemical emulsion splitting plants. This has led us to developing a patented process that completely avoids the usual hydroxide sludge.

Classic chemical emulsion splitting plants yield wastewater, oil and pressed hydroxide sludge from emulsions containing heavy metals.

The chemical cleavage was optimised such that it produces significantly less hydroxide sludge. This directly reduces disposal costs, i.e. without interfering with the process technology.

Our newly developed process is then implemented and the unpressed hydroxide sludge is returned to the process. As a result, heavy metals are transported into the oil phase and disposed of via the existing oil disposal system.

Dust binding

In many areas, dust emissions have become an increasing environmental problem in recent years.

The mining, processing or storage of coal, ores, sinter, sewage sludge or other dry materials usually generates dust. To avoid material losses, minimise maintenance work or protect the environment, the resulting dust is often bound using large quantities of water. The water disrupts subsequent work processes, which causes additional costs.

INWATEC has developed various technologies that enable the user to achieve optimum dust binding and reduce the amount of water used to a minimum.

The use of binding agents can significantly reduce dust generation on conveyor belts, belt transfers or during intermediate storage in bunkers. Binding agents can also be used for the short-term preservation of waste heaps.

In addition to chemicals, INWATEC also supplies dosing equipment, control and regulating units specially adapted to the application as well as the necessary storage facilities
